We cannot mention the short films by Dean Fernando (film maker, upcoming DJ Shadow film) enough; After "Laundry Day", his short film "Culver City" with music by DJ Shadow, is the new featured film to promote the Jag35 (which is 35mm Depth of field adapter for video cameras).

We bumped into a two-hour-long radioshow from a Czech radioshow from october 2004; Two hours filled with DJ Shadow music, including some classic Solesides production with Lateef, Lyrics Born and Blackalicious. The show was presented by "Philip TBC & Gonzalez"

New Joyo Velarde Album
Before the new Lyrics Born album drops in spring of this year, Joyo Velarde will release her album "Love and Understanding" on QUANNUM PROJECTS, this february. Last year, she released her self-titled EP, just to give you a taste of what's coming. Expect production by Lyrics Born with tracks from RJD2, Jake One, Jumbo from the Lifesavas and more; Joyo will be a smash and trend-setter for years to come in the Bay Area and beyond." !!

Basho Basho: The new Kidkanevil album
Kidkanevil, the DJ for the UK/Leeds band Stateless, is back with his third Long Player called "Basho Basho". His debut LP “Problems and Solutions” (which featured Solesides' own Lateef The Truth Speaker) only dropped just under 3 years ago that’s one hell of an out-put, and not one of these LP’s we would consider throw-aways. This 3rd album is an exploration of Kidkanevil's creative inspirations from Asian and Japanese culture. Minimalistic laid back tracks carefully littered with rare film samples and old school nintendo samples & some tracks having no drum patterns at all.
“I was watching a lot of Japanese cinema, listening to a lot of out-there, classical music, going a bit loopy really,” Kidkanevil explains. “That was the starting point.”

This is simply creative music, you won’t find any big club stompers but an outpouring of an intellectually stimulating imagination. You'll be hearing more Kid Kanevil soon, since the "Basho Basho" album is the number 1 hiphop preorder at play.com and he'll be doing things for the Red Bull Music Academy in 2010
